Small Bathroom Makeover on a Small Budget

budget bathroom makeover

It’s almost comical how badly our small bathroom needed a makeover. We’ve went back and forth not only on the color we wanted to paint to whether or not to rip it down to studs and do a total remodel. My husband is handy like that!

Lately I’ve been in the mood to finish projects up and do things that I’ve wanted to do but continued to put off (like white washing the brick on our house- see that post here). It very well could be the second trimester pregnancy surge of energy 😉

Brick Curb Appeal: Before and After Photos

We have done many projects to our home since buying it 4 years ago, but this brick project to help our front curb appeal may be one of my favorites yet!

I knew I wanted to do something to the brick along our house shortly after we finished replacing our front door, not originally for the look, but due to the draft the old door had. With the bright, slick new door (before/after post here) the red of the brick just seemed off.

Our Spoon Line Launched!

My husband and I have been doing wood projects pretty much since the day we bought our home. But over the last few years we have enjoyed the process of learning, the satisfaction of making something by your own hands, and creating something functional that we can use within our home. Fast forward and we have decided we want to share in our love of handmade pieces so we can share that love and joy with others.

DIY Thankful Tree and Thanksgiving Centerpiece

DIY Thankful Tree

Today I wanted to share how the kids and I made our own DIY Thankful Tree. Oh, and thanks to sales this project cost was less than $15. It’s really really simple, but the kids and I spent 90 minutes tracing and cutting and listening to classical music while we “prepped” our leaves for the month- having it all done and tucked into the milk crate box creates no excuses for taking 5 minutes to write and tie on a thankful leaf each night. Enjoy some inspiration and Happy November! (more…)

Area Rug turned Room Makeover

It all started as an innocent conversation about Theo officially being a crawler and how I thought we needed an area rug to cover up the library carpet. Who knows how old it was, it’s long nap and with a shedding dog and crawling baby I knew I needed to do something.

Well that conversation turned into a jump online to calculate sq.ft. and price,  (carpet was picked out already as we’ve already done another room), then a trip to Lowes to purcahse carpet and pad, and a run to Home Depot to rent a carpet stretcher.

DIY Front Door: Before and After Makeover

Spring is trying to come! We had beautiful weather this weekend which meant a project was bound to happen and this weekend it was DIY Front Door Makeover!

Next month will be the 2 year mark on buying our house and changing our front door has been on the list since day one. One of our biggest reservations was the fact the price tag, the one we had been keeping an eye on was around $1,000. I don’t know how many times we have been into Lowes or Menards and window shopped doors.

Calvin came across this one and decided at a $219 price tag we needed to finally go ahead and tackle that project and cross it off the list. Our old door was actually hard to open from the outside, was pretty drafty, and we personally didn’t love the gold look. Insert: DIY Front Door Makeover! (more…)

Let’s play catch up!

Well, hello…. again.

I swear I’m committing to blogging. I kind of need this, for me. Back in the day I use to scrapbook and journal but the kids have taken over my life 🙂 But I’m in such a rich season of life that I don’t want to forget it all.

I also have a lot of people messaging me about hubby and I’s diy projects, that I thought a blog would be a great place to reference and look back on. …

If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you should 🙂 I post lots of our projects, life bits and such. Click HERE for my Instagram or search findingfaithsfuture.

I have tons of pictures of the kids sitting, leaning and playing on it. BEST.IDEA.EVER.

* Baby #4 is on the way! I’ve had a rough first trimester and but thankful most of my symptoms are gone!. Coming in Febraury <3

*Lots of house projects still are happening.. Currently trying to get the interior doors sanded, primed, and painted {dark grey}. Post to come on the details and how to!
