2022 Goals

At the end of every December, I always take the time to reflect on the year and start planning for the upcoming New Year. And every year I feel like I get a little better at setting more realistic goals and my 2022 goals are no exception.

I made a “master” list for my 2022 goals, but then I took some items and have specifically set up to focus on in the first quarter of this year — because baby #6 is due in April! Granted, items on my list include getting certain things done before the baby boy arrives, but finding a way to breakdown your master goal list will help not to become overwhelmed with so many plans and ideas for a new year.

Tip for 2022 Goals: When making your list, remember to find things to STOP doing– especially within our daily habits and routines.

Word of the Year/ Phrases of the Year

Last December I had the word “favor” come to my mind and I continued thinking on that word all year — and writing gratitude notes about how I saw favor with different situations in 2021.

For 2022 I couldn’t settle on a “word” — but back in November after a podcast and a conversation with my husband the question that kept coming up is — how can I make xyz happen? — Which led for me deciding on my phrase of the year to be: Make It Happen. It’s a reminder to me that it’s important to think outside the box, to be consistent with something you want, to stop saying “I can’t,” and acknowledging the chances of something we want will likely NOT just fall into our lap.

And when I placed my order for my yearly calendar and goal setting traveler’s notebook order — I took advantage of the option to have a word/phrase on the front of my book so I can SEE and FOCUS on it all year long!

Find a beautiful planner cover from the many, many options Jenny has in her shop over HERE. Mine shown is a yearly planner with a few blank pages in-between the months to journal, goal setting, planning etc!

My 2022 Goals:

Here is the listed I have started:

  • Finish remodeling the girls’ room — this needs to happen soon! — we need to juggle kids into different rooms and get the baby’s bassinet up in our room and ready to go.
  • Continue with Once-a-Month Grocery Shopping – with only 1 smaller, fill in – grocery pick up order mid-month. We make this into a “day” — the kids are a big help and get a reward of some type when we get home and unpacked.
  • Speaking of food– Fill Your Freezer February is definitely happening again this year on the blog and YouTube — I have done this in different ways here on the blog in the years past, but I will be focusing on meals to stock up for when the baby comes in April. • Incorporate a daily note/gratitude in my yearly planner.
  • Put money into savings every.single.month. — we are still paying off debt, but we also decided to make saving a priority this year to be able to invest.
  • Continue decluttering our home — I made a lot of progress in 2021, but I feel we still have a way to go!
  • Continue to serve and grow my Beautycounter business — so much unexpected goodness came from me stepping out and sharing content about how toxic our everyday personal care products are and sharing safer (and clean) products that women can switch to — the education side of the business is where my passion has formed!
  • Take a family vacation — it’s been over 2 years since we took a vacation– I don’t know if we will be able to squeeze in a long vacation but I would like to take 1-2 long weekend type-trips to some new places.

We are still in the first week of January, so my 2022 goals aren’t a finished list but I’m pretty happy to have some to focus on for the next 3 months and to know what our overall priorities as a family are this year.

Do you have a word/phrase of the year for 2022?
