It’s summer and these healthy snack lunch ideas are perfect for this time of year, but also great for healthy lunch box options as well!
I don’t know about you, but it’s so much easier to prep and chop a bunch of healthy food, lay it out as a muffin tin lunch or using a serving plate and have the kids pick and choose what they want to eat! These healthy snack lunch ideas are currently a favorite in our house – especially on the days it’s been too hot to cook. (lifesaver!). These should give you some healthy ideas to include in your kids’ lunch boxes when school time comes around also!

These lunch box ideas also work well for playdates and summer picnic lunches! Everyone can choose what they want to eat!
I always try to include a protein which helps keep active kids fuller longer (usually 😉 and a healthy fat (usually nuts) which is good for brain development. And if the kids eat and still feel hungry either refill the tray or whipping up a smoothie is what I normally do!
apples, strawberries with peanut butter, garlic keibasa with cheese,
homemade popcorn (the kids ended up sprinkling cinnamon on), and traditional trail mix.
organic animal crackers (favorite from Costco), veggies with hummus, leftover heated up pesto pasta,
trail mix with cranberries and chocolate (a current favorite from Meijer)
tomatoes, carrots, rotterserie chicken, cucumbers, cheese, ritz crackers, and Costco hummus
top roll up is: cream cheese, salami, with chopped up pepperoncini, hard boiled eggs, cuties,
peanut butter and honey roll ups, tomatoes, rainbow carrots and snap peas.
Don’t forget a fruit plate snack: we call these apple nachos!
thin sliced apples, peanut (or almond) butter, shredded coconut, and a few mini chocolate chips!
cheese, cuties, trail mix, fig bars, veggie chips, hummus not pictured
apples, grapes, hard boiled eggs, pepperoni, white carrots, cucumbers, honey roasted almonds, and cheese
cucumbers, carrots, pecans, apples with peanut butter, cuties, dill pickles, tomatoes, ritz crackers.
We tried graze box and enjoyed almost everything they sent- this one was a favorite!
animal crackers, veggies, veggies chips, hummus, and trail mix.
pretzels, apples, dill pickles, carrots, grapes, cheese (peanut butter for apples and pretzels not shown)
fig bars, pickles, cheese, tomatoes, black olives, carrots, (mini sandwiches not shown)
another fruit tray idea: homemade whipped cream with grapes, apples, strawberries, and nectarines.
Half of the fun is just displaying it!
I have serving trays (on my wish list!), muffin tin trays (I know I always talk about the silicone muffin liners– but they are well loved), a wooden cutting board, or just a cookie sheet! New things are always fun, but use what you have!!
I hope this helps, gives you some ideas, and inspires you! If you make these healthy lunch trays what are some of your favorite things ?? Feel free to share on FB with other mama’s, or Pin It on Pinterest !
Can I come over and eat your snacks?? These look amazing. Also…I miss having a Meijer around. Love that store! Thanks for the ideas! Now to try and get my kids to eat this stuff instead of endless Goldfish. 😉
Great ideas!!
This looks like a great idea for my constantly snacking kids! I’ll have to try it later this week!
