Spread the love

Well, we are in the last 3 months of the year! I can’t believe how last and slow this year has been for me! .. This will be my 3rd year joining in Rachel Hollis’ Last 90 Day Challenge -read more here – the whole idea is that we should be ending the year just like we start January 1st – excited for a fresh start, goal focused, etc.

The basics of what she wants others to implement is what she call 5 to Thrive. Five basic things she has done for years that helps serve herself, her body, and fulfill dreams. The 5 things she challenges us to do every day for the last 90 days of the year are: drinking half your body weight in water every day (100 lbs — drink 50 oz.), move your body and exercise for 30 minutes, get up one hour early (or 1 hour dedicated to yourself), give up one food for 30 days (one each month for the last 3 months – or one thing for the rest of the year), practice gratitude (the small things).

Although I admit I haven’t stayed on track with that after the previous years of the challenge I really do think the daily practice is a great foundation on how to live life with intention and goal focused. This year I am not only focusing on those 5 things I am also getting ready to welcome baby #5 in early December there are things I need to be doing now in order to be prepared.

Baby #5 Goals

So much goes into these last weeks of pregnancy, right?
+ Bring up newborn clothes and wash
+ Continue yoga for my body and refresh on hypnobirthing (game changer during delivery!)
+ Freezer meals – started, but would love to add more!
+ Make labor plan and pack hospital bag

Decluttering

I have been actually decluttering since late summer, but have put it into gear a lot more with the change of seasons. Including pairing down mix and match outfits when I started buying Fall clothes for the kids and my maternity clothes. I also went one round on the kids’ toys and donate unused and threw out broken and missing toys. Still there is so much to do!

I have a blog post coming up with some of the tips I have incorporated. inspirational blogs/youtube channels, and “rules” I have been following.

Along with decluttering there are a few projects I would like to get finished (only the ones that are half finished- no new projects for me right now – the bathroom makeover was enough during this pregnancy 😉 . But I am realistic knowing I really only have 2 months to focus on these goals since baby is due the first week of December and I really want just be able to sit back and enjoy ending the year/beginning 2020 fresh.

The process of decluttering can be overwhelming and frustrating, but after each section gets done it truly is such a relief!
