Spread the love

What can you expect from me this year? I wanted to write out my intentions and ask for some feedback as I plan into 2021 with intention. As always, my goal is guide into becoming better, learning new things, and taking care of ourselves. I’m here for support, share for encouragement, and to spark your own creativity!

1. Food

I know for sure there will be lots of food, not only am I still hosting Fill Your Freezer February again this year, but I also made myself a 2021 “Learn to Cook List.” I wanted to expand my cooking knowledge so items like like risotto, carbonara, and panna cotta made the list!

2. Nature

We have always been an outdoors type of a family, but this past Christmas we bought the kids hiking boots and backpacks! We have already been on 6 hikes and it’s not quite mid January yet! I wrote on article on fishing with kids, but I also plan to continue writing about family adventures, places that are worth visiting, and more!

3. Planning

If we don’t sit and plan our life, how are we to accomplish anything ?

Even with the pandemic last year I still used a planning system and wrote out monthly goals and intentions which really kept me aligned with my goals. Granted, some got shifted to the side, but it led me to be able to focus more that had to do with our home, family connection, and personal goals.

I use a system Jenny calls scripting and her mantra is “Write a Better Story.”
You can find her more on her youtube which walks you through her method, and of course browse her website (www.designsbyplannerperfect.com) for her beautiful artwork journals with the BEST paper I’ve found to write/draw/paint on.

I always encourage myself to try out a new system before diving in and investing a lot of money into something, but I tell you what, her method is amazing. Using a notebook for the month, setting goals, and writing/journaling is amazing. Looking back over month to month (last year I used a 12 month planner – which you can order to start at ANY month) and reviews my goals and seeing how many were accomplished was easily the best encouragement to continue!

I recently invested in her travelers notebook and a couple months of her sub box subscription – but don’t feel you have to right away. I started with travelers notebooks from target! 4. Decluttering and Simplifying

This is an ongoing goal from last year! I made a few YouTube Videos (which is another goal of mine to continue into 2021). Thanks to my husband’s vacation over Christmas we were able to get a head start on the basement – organizing, decluttering, and creating a specific area for the kids to play!

5. Optimize Our Kitchen Space

When we moved into our home, my thought about the kitchen was “Wow it’s so big” – of course it was, when compared to an apartment kitchen!! Five years later, 7 people, and a dog living here my thought is “this kitchen isn’t fully functionable.”

Thankfully I have a handy husband with good ideas! And yes, I plan to write along the way with lots of pictures!

6. Self Care

We’ve heard it before, but we need to have self care in our lives. If I could go back in time- the 20 year old with two kids under two- self care would have looked like leaving the house a mess so I could get as much sleep as possible every night. Today it looks more like buying myself a good skincare serum and reading a personal development book.

It looks different in all seasons of life, and also transforms as we getting older, but always important.

Those are my top intentions for 2021. I hope you stick around for the journey. You can always email me (click on the contact me page!) or follow along on social HERE.
