Listen, Doing, Making

capsule wardrobe

Decluttering – I know I said above I want alllll the new things, but this girl also wants things in my house that I love. I recently went through boring things like the medicine shelf, switching out summer clothes and making need lists, and I just planned on going through the toy box of the next couple of week both with and without the kids to get rid of toys.
And since we are talking about pairing down and decluttering – Capsule Wardrobes – I already do this during pregnancy naturally but as I was getting out my fall/winter clothes I immediately threw out or donated clothes that were faded, didn’t fit right, or that I just plain didn’t like but kept anyways. I found Corina’s blog through pinterest and I printed off the FREE Fall Capsule wardrobe check list- I had a few items, but am slowly buying items the other items I need. She also has paid versions of the seasons and even came out recently with a whole year

Making

APPLES. APPLES.APPLES.  Last year we went apple picking with friends, but this year we made it a family outing. We’ve made apples sauce, apple “nachos”, and apple pie! I’ve canned one batch of applesauce, but we plan on going apple picking again to get more!
Me Time. Some days it looks like a bath, or 20 minutes of reading a book, or buying a new nail polish, or having the husband take the kids on a drive so you can clean and relish in the silence of your house! . “You can’t pour from an empty cup” is so true! I plan on getting my sewing machine out soon!

Listening, Doing, Making

Happy Tuesday!

I have literally minutes before any of the four kids need me. Two kids are just over being sick and the other two are currently which means my days are long, sleepless, and full of little ones needing attention! I found a few minutes to hop on and share a few things I’m listening to, doing, and making.!

Just finished this book via audible: (more…)

Things I’m Loving Lately

Focus on the good. Positive breeds positive. Looking at the bright side.

1. Springtime is coming!

Granted some days snow still falls, we have one warm weathered day then the following day it pours down buckets of rain. But spring IS coming; I’ve seen glimpses, I swear it! (more…)

Our $25 anniversary date

Last Friday was our anniversary! 8 years together and 1 year married and today I wanted to share our $25 anniversary date!

Pin it HERE

Thanks to Nana we got to head out Saturday for a day date while the kids got to have some quality time and play out all their energy!

We drove to a nearby town and found a locally owned coffee shop to grab a little lunch and coffee. We were going to grab it to go but she brought it out on a little plates so we just enjoyed our sandwiches there and saved our coffee to go.

Then we headed to the state park. Originally I thought hubby had asked for me to bring the camera to take pictures of the fall leaves on our walk but instead we did a little photo shoot! how sweet is he to think of that!? And we (I mean he) figured out how to set the self timer.

We also took a few pictures of the bison to show the kids.

We walked and talked and just really enjoyed each other. Before kids {and broke} we always did outdoor stuff together including summer canoeing and winter walks (are they considered hikes, cause it sure feels like a little more work than just a walk?haha) … The weather was amazing on Saturday and we sure enjoyed it. We lucked out because Sunday was dark and rainy all day.

It may be too simple of a anniversary date for some, but to me (us) it was a perfect date and took us down memory lane! We normally go for day dates because we like to be home to put kids to bed and lunch/day dates tend to be less crowded and cheaper !

Coffee and sandwich lunch:  $16.85
State Park entrance fee: $7.00
($9 for out of state residents)

Our total spent: $23.85!

Now I just need order some prints!
