I’m sorry to say I missed the first week this month to fill you in with March’s Challenge but the stomach bug hit us! With 6 people in our family it takes d-a-y-s to hit everyone. No one got unscathed this time. Goodness it was not fun! Theo is currently the only one that still has a touch of it, but he actually ate breakfast and is currently taking a nap right now (we’re over an hour mark now! hallelujah!) so I’m hopeful it’s almost over!! February Challenge: Fill Your Freezer Update
These monthly challenges were created to help me actually achieve my Goals /New Years Resolutions for 2018. Fill Your Freezer helps me stay in our grocery budget, keeps us from the drive through, and as we all know, healthier! I hope this encourages you as much as it keeps me motivated! (more…)
Easy Roasted Red Pepper Sauce
This sauce is so, so good! My kids actually requested Red Pepper Pasta for dinner the other night, and since we are doing Fill Your Freezer February I figured I might as well put some away in the freezer while I was at it! It’s not spicy, but feel free to add red pepper flakes if you like some spice!

Happy February! It’s a New Month which means a new challenge (read the beginning post HERE)! I decided this month is Fill Your Freezer February partly because the Holidays took over my normal kitchen/food routine, but also like a lot of people, I need to be better at our grocery spending. You can do this anyway you like – a pantry challenge, freezer cooking sessions, frugal food menu, but here’s my plan:
January Challenge: Week 4
I can’t believe January is already over! If you are lost and have no idea what I’m talking about hop over here for the introduction, jump to week two‘s update, and here for week three! (more…)
Happy 29th to Me!
The kids crowded around to watch as a I rolled, sprinkled, cut, and arranged cinnamon rolls on Thursday evening after cleaning up dinner. Choosing your birthday meals are a family tradition and one I hope plants seeds of fond memories together. They chatted among themselves on what I was doing, what ingredients I was doing, and crinkled their noses as I arranged the cinnamon rolls on the cookie sheet. These small every day things I don’t always recognize, sometimes later only recalling them as wishing time would rewind do soak in them a moment longer. (more…)
