This week was pretty productive! We spent a lot of time talking about this years goals and really got into listening/watching/ and reading up on how to make things happen! The kids are all pretty much all better, thankfully. Lots of homemade soup and movie marathons happened at the beginning of the week.
As I talked last week (read it here) January’s Challenge is Me Time.
Last week I admit, I couldn’t think of anything I did for myself a couple of the days because all four of my kids are currently sick. Upper respiratory Infections – cue a couple days of me writing “hot shower” for the only things I could squeeze in for Me Time which was honestly to wash off any germs the kids gave me and 5 minutes of peace. Thankfully they are all on the mend and I *so far* have zero symptoms for said sickness.
Can we talk about goals? I know you see them everywhere but I’ll be the first to admit I get super excited about the New Year, write out a list of goals, talk them over with my husband, and then they seem to get tucked away and BAM another year gone and again starts the cycle. Insert: Vision Boards and Monthly Challenges (January is Me Time!)
I was really encouraged the last few months following Rachel Hollis over on her FB page where she did encouraging Live Stream Videos every week for something she called “The Last 90 Days” — In a nutshell she encouraged to end the year with the same zest for life and attitude that we would normally start at the beginning of a New Year- and it was a brilliant idea that really got me thinking about 2018 and how I can actually set and achieve some goals! I’ll be honest and say the month of December our schedule was l-a-z-y and amazing, but it sure felt good to jump into an old routine yesterday! Christmas inside of the house is no where to be seen and the only reason the outside lights are still up is because it’s c o l d outside! … Anywho, onto Vision Boards and January’s Challenge: Me Time.
I cannot believe we are less than 3 weeks away from Christmas!! Granted, here in Indiana we finally had a little snow fall!

I know you’ll probably be seeing these Stocking Stuffer Idea lists everywhere- shares, blogs, pinterest- – but personally I love reading through them to gain some new ideas (or ones I forgot!). Most of the items I put in our stockings are not big or expensive so I try to pick up a few things here and there the weeks leading up to Christmas! (more…)
Today I wanted to share how the kids and I made our own DIY Thankful Tree. Oh, and thanks to sales this project cost was less than $15. It’s really really simple, but the kids and I spent 90 minutes tracing and cutting and listening to classical music while we “prepped” our leaves for the month- having it all done and tucked into the milk crate box creates no excuses for taking 5 minutes to write and tie on a thankful leaf each night. Last weekend we headed out to the pumpkin patch! We were surprised that it had already been pretty picked over, but the kids got to ride in the wagon, play with ladybugs, and buy another jug of fresh apple cider so I’ll call that a win 😉
It all started as an innocent conversation about Theo officially being a crawler and how I thought we needed an area rug to cover up the library carpet. Who knows how old it was, it’s long nap and with a shedding dog and crawling baby I knew I needed to do something.
Well that conversation turned into a jump online to calculate sq.ft. and price, (carpet was picked out already as we’ve already done another room), then a trip to Lowes to purcahse carpet and pad, and a run to Home Depot to rent a carpet stretcher.
