Most of the blogs I follow used to do ‘weekend recap’ type posts on Mondays, but I don’t see that much anymore. I have always enjoy them- not only does it help to feel like I know them better and it gives me new ideas!

This weekend the weather was nice (finally!) and we definitely took advantage of getting outside! Although I have been able to squeeze in some reading, so I suppose it’s not terrible, haha! We’ve definitely have been itching for some outside weekend fun!

We enjoyed some yardwork! We kept going back and forth but decided we are planting a garden this year! We got out the big tiller and got to work! We skipped doing a garden  last year with Theo’s birth and adjusting; I just didn’t think I could manage it well. But I’m excited to have a little more knowledge, help and fun for the kids, and enjoy eating fresh produce from our garden! I have most of the seeds, but I do want to purchase a few more herbs!

We went to our local Conservatory for their Butterfly Exhibit. This was only the 2nd weekend, so they didn’t have many butterflies yet. We still had fun seeing all the different chrysalis’s and seeing the different stages of them emerging. We even bought the 3 big kids their very own Painted Lady caterpillar kit so we could watch and observe the whole cycle. It’s only been 2 days and they have already tripled in size!

Super excited that I ordered these casual shoes from Amazon. I have seen them at least four times last week of people raving about them. I’ve been either wearing dressy flats or winter boots – you know it’s bad when you’re husband says something about your lack of appropriate shoes :p I ordered a size down, like most of the reviews say.

I always try to include the kids in Meal Planning and for weeks they have been requesting my homemade lasagna. .. Perfect Saturday afternoon activity!

While the sauce simmered and the aroma filled the house I snuck to the bathroom with miss Melanie and cut her hair! She loves it!
(as the song from  Grease  fills my head: Beauty School Drop Out).

How was your weekend- is the weather starting to feel like Spring yet?

Do you have a garden planned?
